KRILL 1000 DMI is an ultra-concentrated formula based on Antarctic krill oil (high content in EPA, DHA and phospholipids) and astaxanthin.

Omega-3 long-chain unsaturated fatty acids called eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are essential nutrients for growth and development, and they are involved in the normal function of the brain, heart and vision. They also have a beneficial effect on inflammatory processes.

At cardiovascular level, omega 3 fatty acids acts as vasodilator and antiplatelet agent (through prostaglandin E3), increasing fibrinolytic activity. They also decrease the viscosity of the blood, and the blood pressure in normotensive and mild hypertensive patients. Omega 3 fatty acids plays an important role in prevention of arteriosclerosis, since they decrease the levels of triglycerides and low and very low density lipoproteins, LDL and VLDL respectively.

By replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat in the diet, it helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Omega-3 fatty acids present in these softgels provides unsaturated fats.

Using the ORAC method (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) compared to other typical antioxidants on the market, values such as an antioxidant capacity 48 times are obtained higher than lutein and fish oils, and 34 times higher than Coenzyme Q10. The main responsible for this antioxidant action is a carotenoid called astaxanthin, which has a high activity in the protection against free radicals, protects against UV radiation, fights oxidative stress, stimulates the immune system, reduces joint problems and has anti-inflammatory properties.
